Ighalo linked with Napoli move
Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo could be on the verge of swapping English Premier League club, Watford for Italian club, Napoli in January 2017.
The striker's agent, Patrick Bastianelli explained that there will be massive interest in his client when the next transfer window opens in three months’ time.
Ighalo was linked with a move away from the club this summer, after reportedly turning down a move to Shanghai SIPG, before signing a new long-term contract with Watford.
“Over the past two years he has been on a great run with a total of 36 goals.
“In January it may be difficult to go away, Watford and the Pozzo family (owners of Watford) have excellent relations with Napoli, but it will be difficult to sell in the winter market.
“The last year he has also been wanted by Chelsea and Manchester United, but Watford had not even sat down to deal with then.
“We're talking about a guy who is part of the Nigerian national team. In football anything can happen, we'll see,” Bastianelli told told Radio Marte.
Ighalo was dropped for the recent win at Middlesbrough after a disappointing run of form but returned to the side for Saturday's draw at Swansea City.
